'Tour edition' V2 Treble Booster

Dunlo Wah 'Mod'. ThunderTomate circuit board.
Evolution of the original VOX circuit.
Equipped with BC109 transistors and HALO inductors.

Power Supply.
Ground-isolated outputs using independent transformers for AC and DC and independent secondary-windings for DC. Four 9V voltage-regulated DC outputs. Two 9V voltage-regulated AC outputs (for Line 6-type effects).

Power Supply

Thundertomate Vibrophaser.
Double stage phaser with vibrato effect.

Vibrophaser (red and green versions).

ThunderTomate Double Booster.
Each booster stage has its own 'Level' control. On each booster stage it's possible to choose between 'Treble Booster' mode or 'Linear booster' mode. A footswitch allows switching between both booster stages.

ThunderTomate Super Fuzz.
'Clon' of the Univox Superfuzz as used by Pete Townshend on the mythical album 'Live at Leeds'.

Super Fuzz
(interior view)
The original Univox circuit was used on this model. We added True Bypass switching and a footswitchable tone control.

Stereo Guitar Splitter & Tuner Mute.
Coverts the guitar's mono signal on two identical signals for stereo operation or multiple amps use.

Splitter stereo para guitarra con mute para afinación (interior).
A 'Tuner Mute' is included for signal muting when an external tuner is connected. Transformer-isolated outputs.

ThunderTomate Grandma's Tremolo.
Tremolo effect of classic sound with the 'speed' and 'depth' ranges typical of vintage Fender amps.

ThunderTomate The Cow.
Moder Fuzz with silicon transistors. The fuzz stage is preceded by an input-buffer and an additional gain-stage (footswitchable by the 'Kick!' swtich). The result is a clear and dynamic fuzz sound with a natural decay.

ThunderTomate Taxi Driver.
Based on the original BOSS OD-1 with quadruple operational amplifiers.Asymmetrical clipping and absence of tone control as the classic model. Brighter and more incisive sound than the classic Tubescreamer from Ibanez.

ThunderTomate Distortion.
Based on the 80's Proco RAT distortion equipped with the LM308N operational amplifier. The input-buffer has been redesigned. The very high output impedance of the original model has been lowered to a much more convenient value.

ThunderTomate Amp Switcher.
A/B/Y amp switcher. One direct output and one transformer-isolated output. The isolated output is also buffered.

ThunderTomate Compressor.
Based on the MXR Dynacomp compressor and the subsequent ROSS replica. Equipped with a CA3080 transconductance operational ampliflier. Adjusted to offer a more percusive attack than the MXR and ROSS models.

ThunderTomate Silly Rocket.
High-gain modern booster with four equalization options. Lots of 'clean' gain but no saturation or distortion on this model.
Equalization options:
3. Slight attenuation of mid frecuencies.
2. Linear response.
1. Slight enhancement of high frecuencies.
0. More pronounced treble enhancement.
On '0' and '1' options (unlike on a typical treble booster) bass response is not affected at all.

ThunderTomate Analog Delay.
Two BBDs (Bucket Brigade Device), with individual bias adjust and clock-noise cancellation, are employed on this model to obtain the characteristic 'organic' sound of a classic analog delay.
Even though the use of two BBDs could allow to reach a delay time of 700ms, this figure has been limited to 500ms in order to avoid any tonal degradation of the delayed signal. No autooscillation on this model. Two 9-volt and one 12-volt versions were commercialized.

ThunderTomate Analog Chorus.
Musicality and warm tone are the main characteristics of this pedal. The 'Mix' knob allow us to obtain very subtle chorus effects. The effects is applied to the whole frecuency range, resulting in a full-bodied sound (difficult to obtain with other models). The white LED blinks at the sweeping speed.

V2 Treble Booster.
Very versatile high-gain Treble Booster with internal micro-switchs for very precise tonal adjustment.

ThunderTomate UmmaGumma.
Envelope follower filter build around a hand-made double photocell using one LED and two LDRs (Light Dependent Resistor). This effect was equipped with all imaginable options.

ThunderTomate Octavia.
Classic effect based on the original Octavia from Roger Mayer. This effect is really useful when you use the neck's pick-up playing note-to-note from the 10th fret. Because the aggressive sound of this effect, it's usually used with little gain from the pedal.
ThunderTomate Preamp Switcher.
Allows a fast and noiseless switching between two high-gain preamps. Both signal and ground are switched simoultaneously. This way transformer-isolation isn't needed at all. Like a True Bypass pedal, both inputs and outputs are switched simoultaneously.

ThunderTomate Buffer/Line Driver.
Buffer/Line Driver build around the low-noise LM833N operational amplifier.
Input impedance: 1MOhm.
Output impedance. 100 Ohm.
Say 'bye' to tone-sucking even using very long cables on complex installations.

ThunderTomate Crappy Booster.
High-gain booster. The BODY knob controls the mid-frecuencies boosting.
ThunderTomate Hot Shoe.
Overdrive/Distortion hybrid with an additional footswitchable booster-stage. The 'Head Room' knob controls the compression level. The 'Feedback' knob controls an internal
feedback loop wich makes the overall response more linear.

ThunderTomate Treble Booster 'Mullard OC44' version.
Classic Treble Booster based on the original Dallas
Rangemaster. Equipped with a Mullard OC44 germanium
transistor and polypropylene capacitors.
The germanium transistor was specially polarized to obtain a bit
of compression and asymmetrical clipping.

ThunderTomate Mixer 2.
Active 2-channels mixer. Very useful for guitars or effects mixing.

ThunderTomate MO'BETTER Treble Booster.
This pedal was rapidly renamed to 'ThunderTomate V1 Treble Booster'. Very similar to the V2 version but lacks the internal array of microswitches for fine tunning. Buffered input and output.

ThunderTomate MuffinMan 1.
Fuzz-Distortion effect based on the original Electro-Harmonix Big Muff.

ThunderTomate MuffinMan 2.
Very similar to MuffinMan version 1 with the addition of a three-band equalization.

ThunderTomate 'Tour Edition' V2 Treble Booster.
Not enough treble boosters on this page?
Maybe this is the more radical of all them.
Custom made for a pro guitarist to be used 'live' with
a vintage VOX AC-30.
No switch. No gain knob. Just
26 dbs of continuous
treble-boosting.
