This
pedal was designed with the 'boost' junkie in mind.
There are many kinds of boost pedals around, everyone of them has its
own character and suits someone´s particular taste or need. But
there
is a certain kind of player who has already shaped the tone he wants
and is looking for just an extra gain kick with nothing added, just the
pure, naked punch in the face.
Our linear booster is just that weapon. What you get here is a 'hi-fi'
kind of unrefined, whole band-width, almost 30 dB worth of signal level
boost.
Obviously the results will have a lot to do with your personal
rig´s
characteristics: use a clean , twin reverb type amp, and you will get a
huge volume rise , use an already distorted amp and you will saturate
the input stage in the most radical way.
It's important to know how to use a booster of this kind, depending on
the result we want to achieve. If we are using a clean, non-saturated
amp, connecting the booster will only give us a rise in volume. If the
amp is already saturated, then rather than a rise in volume, there will
be a rise in the level of saturation. Finally, if we add the linear
booster to the effects loop of an amp wich is already saturated we can
raise the volume of the saturated signal without increasing the level
of saturation. |
